Indications/Uses
Replacement soln & dialysate for acute kidney injury during continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Post-acute phase after renal replacement therapy initiation when pH, K & phosphate conc have returned to normal. When other buffer sources are available as well as during regional citrate coagulation. Patients w/ hypercalcaemia. Drug poisoning or intoxications when substances are dialysable or filterable.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Adult Replacement soln in haemofiltration or haemodiafiltration Flow rate: 500-3,000 mL/hr. Continuous haemodialysis & haemodiafiltration Flow rate: 500-2,500 mL/hr. CRRT Combined total flow rate: 2,000-2,500 mL/hr. Adolescent 12-18 yr Use adult dose when calculated paed dose exceed max adult dose. Childn (neonates to adolescent up to 18 yr) Substitution soln in haemofiltration & haemodiafiltration; dialysate in continuous haemodialysis & haemodiafiltration Flow rate: 1,000-4,000 mL/hr/1.73 m2.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Hypocalcaemia. Hyperkalaemia. Hyperphosphatemia.
