Brinzolamide
Indications/Uses
Decrease elevated IOP in adult patients w/ ocular HTN & open-angle glaucoma as monotherapy in patients unresponsive to β-blockers or in whom β-blockers are contraindicated or as adjunctive therapy to β-blockers.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 drop bd to the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s). Apply nasolacrimal occlusion or gently close the eyelid for 2 min after instillation. Administer at least 5 min apart if >1 topical ophth medication is being used & administer eye oint last. Patient w/ soft contact lenses Remove soft contact lenses prior to application & wait 15 min after dose instillation before reinsertion.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to brinzolamide & sulphonamides. Hyperchloraemic acidosis. Severe renal impairment.
