Indications/Uses
In combination w/ other immunosuppressive medicinal products for the suppression of immune competent cells, which are the cause for acute rejection. In combination w/ other immunosuppressive medicinal products (eg, glucocorticosteroids, purine antagonists, calcineurin inhibitors or mTOR inhibitors) for the prevention of acute transplant rejections in patients receiving allogeneic solid organ transplants. Acute corticosteroid-resistant rejection after allogeneic solid organ transplantation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Prevention of acute transplant rejection in patients receiving allogeneic solid organ transplants 2-5 mg/kg daily for 5-14 days depending on the patient's condition, selected daily dose & concomitant immunosuppressive regimen. Commence therapy on the day of transplantation pre-, intra-, or immediately post-op. Acute corticosteroid-resistant rejection after allogeneic solid organ transplantation 3-5 mg/kg daily for 5-14 days depending on the condition of grafted organ & clinical response.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ bacterial, viral, parasitic or mycotic infection which are not under adequate therapeutic control & those w/ malignant tumors except in cases where stem cell transplantation is performed as part of treatment. Solid organ transplant patients w/ severe thrombocytopenia (eg, <50,000 platelets/μL).
