Meropenem trihydrate, vaborbactam
Indications/Uses
Adults w/ complicated UTI (cUTI) including pyelonephritis; complicated intra-abdominal infection (cIAI); hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) including ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). Patients w/ bacteraemia that occurs in association w/, or is suspected to be associated w/ previously listed infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Administer via infusion over 3 hr. Patient w/ CrCl ≥40 mL/min cUTI including pyelonephritis & cIAI 2 g/2 g every 8 hr for 5-10 days, may be continued up to 14 days. HAP including VAP 2 g/2 g every 8 hr for 7-14 days. Bacteraemia in association w/, or suspected to be associated w/ previously listed infections 2 g/2 g every 8 hr. Duration of treatment is in accordance w/ the infection site. Renal impairment CrCl 20-39 mL/min 1 g/1 g every 8 hr, 10-19 mL/min 1 g/1 g every 12 hr, <10 mL/min 0.5 g/0.5 g every 12 hr.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to meropenem, vaborbactam or any carbapenems. Severe hypersensitivity (eg, anaphylactic & severe skin reactions) to any other type of β-lactam antibacterials (eg, penicillins, cephalosporins or monobactams).
