Liraglutide

Indications/Uses

Adjunct to diet & exercise for adults, adolescents & childn ≥10 yr w/ insufficiently controlled type 2 DM as monotherapy when metformin is inappropriate; or in addition to other medicinal products for diabetes. Adjunct to diet, exercise & standard care therapy to reduce risk of major CV events in patients w/ type 2 DM & established CV disease who have inadequate glycaemic control.

Dosage/Direction for Use

SC Adult & childn ≥10 yr Initially 0.6 mg daily, increased to 1.2 mg after at least 1 wk. Max: 1.8 mg daily.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.
