Moxifloxacin
Indications/Uses
Bacterial keratitis caused by susceptible strains of aerobic gram-+ve & -ve microorganisms; Chlamydia trachomatis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop in the affected eye 3 times daily for 7-14 days. May be increased up to 8 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or other quinolones.
Special Precautions
For ocular use only. Not to be inj subconjunctivally or introduced directly to anterior eye chamber. Discontinue use if allergic reaction; superinfection occurs; 1st sign of tendon inflammation; rash. Serious acute hypersensitivity. Do not wear contact lenses if w/ symptoms of bacterial keratitis. Avoid contact w/ applicator tip. Temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances may affect the ability to drive or use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Paed.
