Induction and maintenance of anesthesia as part of balanced anaesthetic techniques for in-patients and out-patients surgery in adults and in children age 3 years or older. Propofol should only be administered to intubated, mechanically ventilated adult patients in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to provide continuous sedation and control of stress responses.
General Anesthesia: should be titrated approximately 40 mg every 10 seconds.
Patients younger than 55 years require 2 to 2.5 mg/kg body weight (BW) of Propofol.
In older patients or ASA Grade III/IV patients, the dosage may be reduced to 1 mg/kg BW, with slower administration rates (approximately 2 mL every 10 seconds).
