Indications/Uses

Treatment of patient w/ candidemia, acute disseminated candidiasis, Candida peritonitis & abscesses, esophageal candidiasis. Prophylaxis of Candida infections in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 50-150 mg/day. Childn <16 yr 50-100 mg/day.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to micafungin or other echinocandins.

Special Precautions

Patients w/ abnormal hepatic functions. Closely monitor for worsening of renal function in patients w/ kidney problem, renal failure & abnormal renal function.
