Clear solution, colorless, odorless.
Each mL contains: Tranexamic Acid 100 mg.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Sodium Chloride, Water for Injection.
Pharmacology: Tranexamic Acid is an antifibrinolytic agent which competitively inhibits the activation of plasminogen to plasmin.
Short-term use for haemorrhage or risk of haemorrhage in increased fibrinolysis or fibrinogenolysis.
Local fibrinolysis as occurs in the following conditions: Prostatectomy; Epistaxis; Conisation of the cervix.
Management of dental extraction in haemophiliacs.
Hereditary angioneurotic oedema.
Local fibrinolysis: The recommended standard dose is 500-1,000 mg, by slow intravenous injection (1 mL/min), 3 times daily.
Impaired renal function (moderate to severe): The following dosages are recommended: See table.

Preparation of solution: For intravenous infusion, Tranexamic Acid may be mixed with most solutions for infusion such as electrolyte, carbohydrate, amino acid and dextran solutions. Prepare mixture the same day solution is to be used.
Heparin may be added to solution for injection.
Severe renal insufficiency.
Hematuria.
Disturbances in color vision.
High thrombotic risk.
Reduce the dose in patients who have renal insufficiency due to risk of accumulation.
In massive hematuria from the upper urinary tract (especially in haemophilia) since, in a few cases, ureteric obstruction has been reported.
In the long-term treatment of patients with hereditary angioneurotic oedema regular eye examination (e.g. visual acuity, slit lamp, intraocular pressure, visual fields) and liver function tests should be performed.
Use in Pregnancy & Lactation: See USE IN PREGNANCY & LACTATION for further information.
Use only if clearly needed in pregnant women.
Exercise caution when administering to nursing mothers.
Hypotension has been observed when intravenous injection is too rapid. Do not inject more rapidly than 1 mL/minute; this reaction has not been reported with oral use.
Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea occur, but disappear when dosage is reduced.
Colour vision disturbance.
Do not mix with blood.
This drug is a synthetic amino acid; do not mix with solutions containing penicillin.
Increases the risk of blood coagulation when used concomitantly with oral contraceptive containing estrogen.
Store below 30°C, away from light.
B02AA02 - tranexamic acid ; Belongs to the class of amino acid antifibrinolytics. Used in the treatment of hemorrhage.
